Ride METRO free on Sunday, May 17, 2015.

That’s right, FREE!

METRO is providing free rides on May 17, 2015. There are plenty of places to ride that day (free of charge!), including Open Streets, Better Block, and the Barberton Cherry Blossom Festival.

Open Streets takes place on Sunday, May 17. The event closes the streets to cars and opens them to people. Bike, walk, jog, or skate and explore your community in a safe, fun, and healthy way. The route will be 2.8 miles along Main Street from Bartges St. to Cuyahoga Falls Ave.

Better Block, happening the same weekend and ending on Open Streets Day (Friday, May 15 – Sunday, May 17),  is a temporary makeover for a block, a kind of “flash-mob” of urban planning designed to give a physical form to a neighborhood’s best visions and hopes for what a block can be with community interest and effort.  The North Hill Better Block will include pop-up restaurants, stores, a farmer’s market, art, and more, and will engage the north end of the Open Streets footprint.

The Barberton Cherry Blossom Festival is taking place at Lake Anna Park in Barberton. Ride on over and visit METRO’s table!
