You're invited to try transit any time, but we hope you'll make a special effort to do so during Try Transit Week from October 19-23. We'll be celebrating all week long with special highlights and promotions.

October 19: Official-ly Onboard

METRO’s leadership will ride along with Summit County Public Health Commissioner Donna Skoda and Assistant Health Commissioner Tonya Block, highlighting METRO’s safety initiatives surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

October 20: Travel Training Tuesday

We’ll highlight METRO’s Travel Training program. Travel Training is a great way to learn about riding public transit in Summit County, whether you’re new to the area or just looking for alternative transportation options. Our travel trainer will host a live Q&A on Facebook at 11 a.m. to answer your questions about riding METRO, from tracking your bus in real time to how to use the bike racks.

October 21: Free Fares & Ways to Pay Wednesday

Wednesday is a free fare day on all METRO services! We’ll also share the many ways you can purchase bus passes for those other days you need to pay.

October 22: Throwback Thursday

Did you know METRO used to be the Akron Transportation Company? It’s true! Join us on social media for a trip down memory lane and celebrate our history.

October 23: Feature Friday

We’ll feature two of our newest pilot programs, FlexRide and METRO Connect. Learn what areas these programs serve and how you can schedule an upcoming trip.

Be sure to follow METRO on Facebook for more information and even a giveaway or two! Give transit a try, and we'll see you on the bus!
